Call for Collaborators for TMGH GlobInfect Project 1

Our team (Institute of Tropical Medicine, School of Tropical Medicine and Global Health, Nagasaki
University, Japan) is working on an urgent survey about the preparedness of hospital staffs for the
2019 nCoV outbreak that has started in Wuhan, China and was transmitted to many countries all over
the world. Many hospitals are expected to receive cases in the future due to the rapid spread of the
virus. In this multinational survey, we aim to assess the level of preparedness of hospitals and how
they will deal with the cases in many countries.

On behalf of the Institute of Tropical Medicine and School of Tropical Medicine and Global Health,
Nagasaki University, we would like to invite you to join our global survey and participate in the
success of the project.

Call for Collaborators for TMGH GlobInfect Project 1

Dear Colleagues,
Our team (Institute of Tropical Medicine, School of Tropical Medicine and Global Health, Nagasaki University, Japan) is working on an urgent survey about the preparedness of hospital staffs for the 2019nCoV outbreak that has started in Wuhan, China and was transmitted to many countries all over theworld. Many hospitals are expected to receive cases in the future due to the rapid spread of the virus. In this multinational survey, we aim to assess the level of preparedness of hospitals and how they will deal with the cases in many countries. Currently, we have received IRB approval from 35 hospitals and verbal agreement from > 100 hospitals after only 8 days and in addition to this, many IRB approvals are in progress.

On behalf of the Institute of Tropical Medicine, School of Tropical Medicine and Global Health, Nagasaki University, Japan, we would like to invite you to join our global survey and participate in the
success of the project. In addition, all of authors will be equally qualified as collaborators in our publication at a prestigious journal (kindly see: Lancet Infect Dis. 2018 May;18(5):516-525). Each site collaborator will be responsible for:
 Getting an IRB approval (Exemption/expedited) from his/her hospital
 Printing the questionnaire and/or choosing our web-based questionnaire
 Conducting the survey in the hospital.
 Reporting the data to our project coordinators and managers

If you agree to join our project, please contact us at tienhuy@nagasaki-u.ac.jp and we will send you our protocol and questionnaire both in English and your official languages (if needed). After that, you will start working on the IRB approval from the hospital/affiliations (perhaps a quick expedited review process) and then handing the survey using Web-based or printed paper questionnaire. The survey must be finished before Mar 6th. More detail of the project can be seen below this email and further request.

We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Our best regards,

TMGH GlobInfect Board managers.

 Prof. Kenji Hirayama, MD, PhD, Nagasaki University, Japan
